What's with grenades?

Why do grenades only work sporadically? Is there a trick to getting them to work more frequently or are they just poorly programmed?

I keep thinking I've got the hang of them and then they stop taking the enemy's life bar down. Despite the fact it looks like its your taking points off them.

Why OH why oh Why.

Has anyone got them over level 15 yet?

I was up in Kingshead working my staff and noticed another pirate using grenades in that group of 7 L18's in the center and it seemed to work rather well. You get more rep points faster with more targets, Like the voodoo doll. I just throw one to engage them before they move and continue to step back and keep throwing... just tapping the mouse button until one throws. I seriously think it has something to do with the lag issue too, because I noticed that happening and it would eventually catch up to the damage.

my granade worked tonight!!! wow thats new must be trouble with the game on that issue becuse i didnt use it any differantly tonight than anyother night but i worked where it doestnt normally
